Certified Green Labeling for CPG products

Several recent studies indicate that consumers are willing to pay more for environmentally friendly and sustainable products. The problem is that these consumers must rely on the manufacturer to tell them how "green" their product is. My concept involves creating an independent, third party organization that measures the environmental impact of a product, from what materials it is made of to how it was produced to how it breaks down post-consumption.
